Julia Volkmar is a Berlin-based exhibition designer, graphic designer and lecturer, and the founder and owner of VISUAL SPACE AGENCY. She studied Visual Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

After working for Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin (2010–2012), Julia was the leading art director at chezweitz – Büro für museale und urbane Szenografie (2012–2018). In May 2018 Julia opened her own studio for spatial and graphic design, which is now VISUAL SPACE AGENCY. Together with her team she realizes exhibitions, catalogs and exhibition campaigns for cultural and public institutions such as the Gropius Bau, the Deutsches Historisches Museum Berlin and the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.

After teaching assignments at the the Bauhaus University Weimar, the TU Berlin and the TU Braunschweig, Julia has been teaching as a lecturer in the Class for Spatial Design and Exhibition Design at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2018 and has substituted for Gabi Schillig's professorship together with Ruven Wiegert in the winter semester 2023/24.
